Voting Question: Should I miss school for this?

So my parents think I should go to school but I am NOT going. They have to go all the way from Louisville, Kentucky to Indianapolis, Indiana to see if my dad has cancer. I feel like I need to be there and I want to be there. BUT, I've missed 10 days of school so I have to have a doctors excuse for every time I miss Now. Would this be an exception?
